ABOUT
RAUDAT TAHERA
Raudat
Tahera, a majestic marble mausoleum, graces the heart of Central Bombay,
immortalizing into eternity the life, the teachings and the ideals of His
Holiness Dr. Syedna Taher Saifuddin(AQ), 51st Dai-al-Mutlaq.
Mumbai(Bombay), was the natural choice to build a memorial to Syedna Taher
Saifuddin(AQ), considering that a major part of His Holiness's life was
spent in Bombay, and most of the day to day Dawat activities were
supervised from here by His Holiness(AQ).
The Raudat Tahera is not only looked upon as a mere mausoleum to another
holy man. It is is an embodiment of the people's love for a spiritual
patriarch who functioned as the vicegerent of a direct descendant of
Maulatena Fatima (A.S), daughter of the Holy Prophet (S.A) and her consort
Amirul Momineen Maulana Ali (A.S). Its white marble murals and glittering
gold inscriptions are a reflection of the personality of the Al-Dai-el-Mutlaq
buried under - pious, erudite and just - a spiritual leader who gave off
his love in an abundant measure to his followers and humanity. He guided
the forlorn and wiped the tears of the lowliest of his sect.
During his brilliant stewardship, the community attained a pride of plane
and recognition on an international plane. Today a million followers of
the Fatimi Dawat, in different countries of the world, lead a way of life
scrupulously adhering to the tenets and usages of the Fatimi tradition.
The late Syedna(AQ) was held in high esteem, both in India and the world
over, for his dedicated service to the cause of literacy and education. An
eminent scholar of Fatemi humanities and philosophy, he achieved
distinction in the field of letters by his profound knowledge of the
Arabic language and arts.
When the Syedna(AQ) was laid to rest in peace, his followers from all
parts of the world, responded simultaneously to the call of His Holiness
Dr Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin(TUS), his son and next in line of
succession, to erect a Mausoleum as a mark of reverential love to His
Holiness Dr Syedna Taher Saifuddin(AQ). |
